About the Library
The Central Library of SIT, Bhubaneswar spread over 400 sq.mt., has an excellent well stocked computerized library with required reading materials. The library activities and services are automated using Integrated Library Management software "KOHA" in cloud server. The Library is well equipped with modem facilities and resources (print and electronic) in the forms of CD/ DVD, online databases, videos Lectures, journals, theses, reports.
It has also developed a fully-fledged E-resource center equipped with necessary modem equipment in order to provide various digital mode library services. Library has developed an institutional repository using open source software "DSpace", which preserves the institute’s intellectual publications. Users can search and browse the library collection through Web OPAC. The institutional repository can be accessible through LAN

Membership Rules
The students, faculty members & non-faculty staff are the members of the Central library with due permission from the authority. The users are provided with the IDENTITY-CUM-LIBRARY card after submitting prescribed filled up form.

Borrowing Benefits
- Students: Issue 05 books (14 days) + 05 books (Book Bank).
- Professors / Assoc. Prof: 07 books for the semester.
- Asst. Professors: 06 books for the semester.
- Lecturers: 05 books for the semester.
- Non-Faculty: 02 books for the semester.

Rules & Regulations
- Users should sign in the Reading Room Gate Register before entering the Reading Room.
- Keep all personal belongings at property counter except small precious things.
- Maintain silence; mobile phone use is strictly prohibited.
- Students advised to come in proper uniform.
- Users are not allowed to enter the Library without their own Identity-cum-Library card.
- Use of mobile phones, spitting, smoking, drinking, eating, or chewing tobacco, sleeping, loitering, and gossiping inside the library is strictly forbidden.
- Library not responsible for lost personal belongings at the counter.
- Outside books are not allowed inside the Reference cum Reading Room.
- Silence and strict discipline should be maintained in the library.
- Students are not allowed to borrow books using others' Identity-cum-Library Cards.
- Reference materials like dictionaries, encyclopaedias, journals, and project reports will not be issued out.
- Issued books must be returned or renewed on or before the due date to avoid overdue charges.
- Books are issued for 14 days for students, with a late fine of Rs.1.00 per book per working day.
- The Librarian can recall any issued book at any time.
- Members should check books for missing pages before borrowing.
- Users should not damage library resources; violators will be charged full replacement or double cost.
- Books borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc. and must be returned in the same condition as it was issued
- If issued books are lost, then user must return the latest book of the title or else they have to pay two times cost of that book.
- The library rules and regulations shall be modified from time to time and shall be binding on all concerned.
- Identity Card must be presented before using the Digital Library facility.
- The use of the Digital Library Facility is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Each user is allowed only one hour for computer use per session.
- Downloading/installing software from the internet is prohibited.
- Internet access is restricted to academic pursuits only.
- Social media and online chatting are not allowed in the Digital Library.

Library Team & Committee
Library is managed by a team of 05 members. The team is headed by a librarian and two assistant librarians, who are professionals. There are two non-professional staffs working in library. Library Committee is the main governing body of the library which is constituted every year for providing suggestion regarding the development of the library in all dimensions.
